PALAMOUNTAIN

This is John Richard Palamountain.  He was born in Ballarat, Victoria 1866, and died in 1942 aged 76.  He was a member of Parliament in Tasmania in 1926 – 1928.

In 1897 (aged 31), He married Annie M Stranger who was 29.  She died aged 42

He then re married in 1927 (aged 61) to Helen Margaret Stranger who was 47.  She died aged 50

John Richard Palamountain and Annie Stranger had 4 children

Ella born 1897 – 1954 (57)

Paul born 1900 1959 (59)

Alan born 1903 – 1991 (86) (he is our grandfather)

Daisy born 1908 – 1998 (90)

 

This is Annie Palamountain (nee Stranger), with Children Ella, Paul and Alan snr.  This photo would have been taken somewhere between 1905 – 1908.

This is a much later photo of the 4 siblings, possibly taken in either Victoria, or South Australia.

John Richard and his second wife Helen did not have any children.

ELLA married Herbert Hopgood in 1921.  They had 4 children

Margaret Joan Hopgood, who later became a Kilpatrick and had 3 children,

Denice Ruth Hopgood, who later became a Shepherd and had 2 children (it is one of the daughters called Catherine, who sent all the old photos)

Alan john Hopgood, who married a Grunden and had 2 children  

 (Alan John Hopgood, is an Australian Actor/Playwriter, who won an award in 2005 for service in the performing arts).

Bruce Hopgood who had no children

PAUL Snr married Joanna.  They have no children

DAISY married Stanley Hudson Wellington in 1935, and had 3 children

Kelvin John who married Janet Builder and had 1 son

Rosalie Anne who in 1970 married Kenneth Arthur Robinson, and had 3 children

Vaughan Stanley who in 1973 married Gillian Griffith, and have 2 children

ALAN SNR married Margaret Cecilia Talbot in 1937, and had 4 children

Peggy Anne who Married John Cornacchia and had 4 children (our cousins) Robert, David, Margaret, Patrick and Julianne

Alan Palamountain, who married Dorothy Psaila and had 4 children Teresa, Michelle, Michael and Paul

David who never married and still lives with his mother, if she is alive.

Peter who married Mary (?), and had 5 children (our cousins) Stephen, Catherine, Christopher, Elizabeth and Melissa.
